Brunswick County Board of Education participates in a budget workshop

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Brunswick County Board of Education met Friday to participate in a budget workshop. Board Members discussed the proposed 2014-2015 budget and the top 5 capital project priorities.

This proposal will be presented to County Commissioners during a committee meeting next week.

School officials created a list of challenges the district faces when returning to a single bell schedule.

Board of Education members also began talks about potential reductions in anticipation of a budget shortfall. They presented a list of proposed budget cut ideas as they try to figure out which cuts are going to least likely affect classrooms.
