Public hearing for Brunswick County proposed budget

Brunswick County residents will get the chance to voice their concerns about the county’s proposed budget.

The Brunswick County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing Monday night. Last week, the county manager proposed a budget that is more than ten percent less than last year’s spending, thanks to the lagging economy. The proposal eliminates 25 vacant positions. Employee salaries and benefits will remain the same for the time being.

Monday night’s hearing starts at 6:30 p.m. in the County Administration Building at the Government Complex in Bolivia.
