Advocacy groups meet to discuss immigration reform

RALEIGH — Advocacy groups are meeting in North Carolina in support of changing what they consider an outdated immigration system.

Organizers working with Reform Immigration FOR America NOW will meet Monday afternoon in Raleigh to launch a national campaign on ways to improve the citizenship process for immigrants entering the United States.

Organizers from the N.C. Justice Center say the event also will touch on issues like the moral and economic impact of working immigrants.

Representatives from state faith groups and labor organizations are expected to attend.
