Roland-Grise rolls to lacrosse championship
A New Hanover County middle school boys lacrosse team had quite a season. The Roland-Grise lacrosse team won the county championship for the third year in a row.
They had a perfect 10-0 season, and beat Cape Fear Academy 6-5 last week for the championship.
There are 23 seventh and eighth graders on the team, six of whom have been on the team for the three championship years.
“It feels great. It still hasn’t kicked in yet for me. I know we won and all, the first two wins kicked in a little while ago, but three-peat, it’s pretty great,” said goalie Byron Fairley.
The Roland-Grise team is coached by John Beall. He says he’s proud to have a great group of players that works hard.
