Woman sentenced in teen’s 2011 murder

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Bladen County woman is headed to prison for the 2011 murder of a teenager.

The District Attorney’s Office says a judge today sentenced Shakendria Harper for the second-degree murder of Princess Cromartie, 17. Harper, 23, will serve a minimum of 10 years five month and a maximum of 13 years three months in prison.

On Feb. 24, 2011, Harper stabbed Cromartie on Sandpit Road near US 701 north of Elizabethtown.
