WPD: Employees pepper-sprayed, left in cooler after robbery

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police are looking for the man accused of robbing a restaurant, leaving the employees locked in a cooler.

Police said it happened around 12:40 a.m. at the Burger King in the 800-block of College Road. They said three employees were leaving the business when they were approached by a man. Police said he had a handgun, pepper-sprayed the employees and put them in the cooler during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a black male around 6’2″ who was wearing all black clothing. Surveillance images have not been released.
