Wilmington man pleads guilty in 3 armed robberies

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A man is headed to prison after pleading guilty to three armed robberies, with two of the crimes involving screwdrivers.

Jamie Lamont Green, 44, pleaded guilty Wednesday to three counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon. The robberies happened on April 11, 2015 and two on July 7, 2015. In the April incident, Green took money out of a woman’s hand and pulled out a screwdriver when she tried to get the money back. The victim, however, knew Green from high school and called police.

The other robberies in July happened at stores on Market Street. Green robbed a Handee Hugo of two cases of beer and robbed the CVS of 10 sticks of deodorant. A knife was used in the first robbery, while a screwdriver was used in the second.

Green was sentenced to between eight and 11 years in prison because of his criminal history.
