Victim identified in River Rd. fatal crash

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — We’re learning more about the man killed in one of two head-on crashes from this weekend in New Hanover County.

Troopers said Dennis Edmonds, 72, died in a crash on River Road Saturday night. Troopers said Edmonds was killed when an SUV crossed the center line and hit his truck. A woman was also in the truck with Edmonds but should be OK, they said.

The cause is still under investigation.
