Federal stimulus money has been approved for eastern NC

Nearly $32 million of federal stimulus money has been approved for projects in eastern North Carolina.

State Treasurer Janet Cowell announced Monday that the funds will be invested in water, wastewater and green projects.

Carolina Beach received $2.3 million to install two treatment ponds, pump stations and force mains to treat storm water run-off. Another $1.1 million will go to replacing aging sewer lines.
