Child assault charges dismissed against Brunswick Co. teacher
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A North Brunswick High School teacher is off the hook after a judge dismissed child assault charges.
According to a spokeswoman with District Attorney Jon David, Judge Jason Disbrow dismissed four charges against Victoria Jeffries during her trial on March 17. The charges were dismissed after the prosecution presented their case at trial.
The charge were two counts of misdemeanor assault on a child under 12 and two counts of misdemeanor child abuse. The incidents involved two kids ages seven and five.
Jeffries was placed on paid leave when the charges were filed. She resumed work at NBHS this week, according to a school spokeswoman.
