Sheriffs believe suspects in spa raids may have left state

A Brunswick County prostitution raid that ended in fourteen arrests has left sheriff’s deputies hoping the suspects return for their court date.

The sheriff’s department believes suspects from two of the four places raided, the Sun Spa in Longwood, and the Smile Spa off Highway 17 are no longer in this state.

After they were arrested, and booked early Thursday morning, deputies said the suspects from those two spots bonded out almost immediately. Brunswick County Sheriff John Ingram believes the suspects are in Georgia at this time.

Bond is set only to ensure suspects appear for their court date, but it doesn’t mean they’ll stick around in the meantime. “However, if they do not show up for their court date, there is a very good chance the court will issue a warrant for their arrest, and we’re going to have to initiate procedures to locate them, and extradite them back,” said Ingram.
