Police search for hit and run suspects

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington police are searching for two men involved in a hit and run Sunday night near Avalon Apartments.

According to dispatch the call was received around 11:26 p.m. Sunday night for an accident involving three cars.

Officials say an Acura RDX was stolen from Metting Road Sunday night and struck two other vehicles parked on the street. A red Nissan Centra and a silver Toyota Corolla were unoccupied at the time they were hit. The Acura spun out of control and ended up next to an Avalon apartment building, but officials say there was no damage done to the building.

According to Corporal Merritt with the Wilmington Police, two suspects fled from the scene after the crash.

No injuries have been reported.
