Historic homes to be showcased in Southport’s Holiday Tour of Homes

SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — Several events are happening throughout the week and this weekend in Southport as a part of the city’s Winterfest.

The Holiday Tour of Homes is scheduled for Saturday from 12 pm to 5 pm. Tickets sold out within three minutes this year.

The money raised from the tickets will support the Southport Historical Society.

Laura Ryan is the Historic Home Committee Chair. She says people will have an opportunity to take a look into the roots of the city by the sea.

“I believe six of our eight homes this year are on the original 100 lots,” Ryan said. “They’re old, they’re historic. Some are big, some are small and they all have very special, unique characteristics. They’re all very different from one another.”

If you were not able to get home tour tickets, the Old Brunswick County Jail Museum and Visitors Center will be open for tours as well. That does not require tickets.
