Sub-station to open in Brunswick Forest

Brunswick County Commissioners are expected to give the go ahead on a new sheriff’s department sub-station in Leland.

The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office is expected to open a sub-station in the Leland development, Brunswick Forest. The sheriff’s department said a sub-station in Leland will better serve the northern part of the county.

Another sub-station opened in Calabash back in May.

Brunswick Forest is offering the property at a lease of only a dollar a year. The county manager said the cost of utilities and insurance will be paid out of drug seizure money.

Commissioners will vote on the lease agreement Monday night.
