More flooding on Racine, causing some to use shelters

Apartments on Racine near UNCW flooded, causing New Hanover County Emergency Management officials to open up Noble Middle School as a shelter for those residents who evacuated.

This morning, Emergency Management Director Warren Lee told us six people, two dogs and one cat were in the shelter.

At last check this morning, both Racine Drive and New Centre Drive between College and the entrance to the Lowe’s Home Improvement were still flooded, making the roads impassable.
