Democrats using listening tour to sustain momentum
RALEIGH — Democratic activists are trying to maintain their election momentum by holding a listening tour around North Carolina.
The Democratic National Committee’s Organizing for America will meet with North Carolina residents to discuss how the group can organize in communities to support the priorities of President Barack Obama. The listening tour begins Tuesday night in Durham and Asheville but will include stops across the state. It’s part of a series of tours around the country.
The project is attempting to strengthen the grassroots network created during the Obama campaign. Obama was the first Democratic presidential candidate to win North Carolina since 1976.
