Brunswick County sheriff’s deputy is suspended after a boating accident

A Brunswick County sheriff’s deputy is suspended after a boating accident over the holiday weekend.

It happened while Deputy Charles Murray was off-duty on his personal boat near Holden Beach.

Deputy Murray was charged with boating while impaired and reckless operation of a boat.

The North Carolina Wildlife Resource Commission and the sheriff’s office Professional Standards Division are investigating.
