HISTORIC HOME TOUR: Kochler House
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Kochler House on the Azalea Festival Home Tour looks old, but it’s new!
Plantation Building Corporation built the home at 502 south front street in 2013, but it looks like it was built more than 100 years ago. It comes complete with high ceilings, crown molding and door transoms. However, it has a modern floor plan.
So, while the American Four Square fits right in to downtown Wilmington, Sylvia Kochler says it requires little up-keep, and offers a better entertaining space.

“It’s the perfect lifestyle as far as we’re concerned. It’s very open for entertaining, but we are surrounded by beautiful, magnificent older homes that we admire, and we’re within walking distance to all the downtown amenities,” Kochler said.
According to the Azalea Festival website, this home sits on the site of German immigrant William Ulrich’s grocery store in the late 19th century.
The Azalea Festival Home Tour runs Saturday and Sunday.
