Countdown is on for the skinny dip record

Many of us, at one point in our lives, have skinny dipped. It may have been in the middle of the night. It may have been in the privacy of your own backyard pool. Regardless, a world record skinny dip is less than 24 hours away.

The American Association for Nude Recreation has plans to break the world skinny dip record Saturday afternoon. Nudist resorts all across the country will participate, including Whispering Pines in Brunswick County.

“Just to set a world record in anything is phenomenal, so to be able to do this as nudists is awesome. I am so excited about this,” said Gloria Waryas.

The world record attempt Saturday afternoon will mark the conclusion of Nude Recreation Week.
