UNCW camp inspires kids to sea art
A day at camp turned into an art lesson from a pro, for some area kids.
UNCW’s Marine Quest Camp hosted it’s first Art Sea Camp program. Kids were able to get their hands dirty with a local artist who taught them metal sculpting.
The camp allows 12 to 16 year olds to learn artistic techniques from artists inspired by marine life. Marine Quest camper John Ullman said, “I’ve never done any of this before so with him opening up and kind of teaching us all of this is pretty cool.”
Wednesday’s lesson, making a star fish from metal.
