Workers resume schedules at NC Slim Jim plant
GARNER, N.C. — Employees at a Slim Jim snack factory in North Carolina are back on the job in the plant that was severely damaged by a gas explosion last month.
Multiple media outlets reported Monday that employees at the ConAgra factory in Garner began training Sunday. The company has said employees will resume production July 27.
Three employees were killed and nearly 40 were hurt in the explosion June 9. About 300 employees were in the factory when the explosion occurred. Workers have been paid their wages since the explosion in the Raleigh suburb.
Two federal agencies have blamed natural gas for the blast.
