WILMINGTON, NC (StarNews) — The Wilmington Police Department won’t release ammunition log books requested by the StarNews because those logs are being used in a WPD internal investigation, an official said Tuesday.
On April 4, the StarNews requested armory records that pertain to the signing out of ammunition, information on what the WPD spends annually on ammo and any accounting or auditing records pertaining to the purchase and use of ammunition.
On Tuesday, WPD spokeswoman Linda Rawley provided 106 pages of ammunition purchase orders from 2013 through April 6, but said the “sign out logs” were not available.
