Kids get down and dirty at Children’s Museum

It’s not every day that kids are encouraged to go play in the mud, but that’s exactly what happened at the Children’s Museum of Wilmington.

The seventh annual Mud Day was a big hit with the little ones who had a mom- approved excuse to get dirty. Children of all ages were encouraged to come ready to play in a swim suit, or old clothes. The event featured activities ranging from mud pools, a mud painting area, and a mud pie station.

One youngster said his favorite part was just chillin’ in the mud.

“(I like) playing in the mud at the mud park!,” Phoenix told WWAY, as he lay back in a kiddie pool, up to his neck in mud.

Once the kids were done getting dirty, they could clean off at the slip and slide and sprinkler station, something that was likely much appreciated by the moms and dads, who had to give the muddy kids a car ride home!
