Driver charged with 4th DWI after Saturday morning crash

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police say a Burgaw man has been charged with his fourth DWI after a traffic crash Saturday morning in Wilmington.

WPD spokeswoman Cathryn Lindsay says officers responded to the 3700 block of Oleander Drive at 9:40 a.m. for a crash. Lindsay says Sebastian Salazar Martinez, 40, tried to leave the scene, but he was highly intoxicated and was held by citizens in the area.

Police charged Martinez with DWI, a red light violation and driving while license revoked. He is in jail under $5,000 bond.
