Workshop helps small businesses find their way

From time to time we all need a point in the right direction. On Wednesday, local small business owners got the guidance they’ll need to navigate towards recovery.

The North Carolina Office of Economic Recovery and Investment organized a panel of experts to answer the questions of small business owners.

Part of the workshop focused on helping underutilized businesses learn how to compete for government contracts.

“They’ve been left out in the past, they have not been utilized to their fullest potential, and so it is our job to get the word out there. There’s recovery funds out there, and this is how you access them,” explained Deborah Cannady of the NC Office of Economic Recovery and Investment.

About 100 business owners turned out for the discussion.

Experts advised the owners how to find their niche, make sure they can provide the services they promise, and run their business efficiently.
