Police investigating after 2 hurt in shooting

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Investigators with the Wilmington Police Department are trying to figure out who is responsible for an overnight shooting.

According to a WPD spokeswoman, officers in the area of the 1300-block of Church Street heard gunfire and began to investigate. The spokeswoman said around that time, a man who was injured in a shooting called 911. He was reportedly in the area of 13th and Ann streets. Another caller, a woman, also called police in the area of 1311 Church Street to report a shooting. The woman was hit with shotgun pellets, police said.

Neither victim suffered life-threatening injuries, police said.
