Cape Fear Italian Festival introduced in September
You may have noticed our news team includes names like Rondinaro, Wuzzardo, Caiazzo and Mauceri. That is just a few of the Italians around the station. That is why WWAY is proud to sponsor next month’s Cape Fear Italian Festival.
Our news director Paul Paolicelli and his paesans got the ball rolling on the festival, which will feature music, food, wine, bocce ball and much more; a little something for everybody.
“Everybody’s attached to an Italian-American somewhere. It’s in everything you eat, most of the clothes you wear – Italian-Americans have been huge in this country,” said Mike Forte. “Their contribution is outstanding. No matter what you talk about: the arts, sports, it’s doesn’t matter. There’s an Italian-American at the forefront of everything.”
The Cape Fear Italian Festival is Saturday, September 26th and Sunday, September 27th. It is at the Cross Creek Commons Shopping Center on Highway 17 in Leland.
