More lane closures planned for CFMB

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — More closures are planned on the busy Cape Fear Memorial Bridge.

A NCDOT spokesman said the closures will start Sunday night at 9 p.m. through 5 a.m. The closures are scheduled through Thursday.

Crews are working on routine repairs of the metal deck of the lift span of the bridge, the release said. Parts of the deck were damaged from changes in weather, wear and fatigue. They discovered the damage during the bi-annual inspection, the spokesman said.
