UNCW trustees pick chancellor search committee

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — UNCW’s Board of Trustees has approved a 19-member search committee to seek candidates for the school’s next chancellor.

The committee will work with a national recruiting firm on finding candidates. It will also work to engage the campus and the community, via open forums, to help identify the traits needed in a new chancellor.

William Sederburg has been serving as interim chancellor after Gary Miller left for the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay during the summer.

Sederburg says UNC System President Tom Ross will visit campus Oct. 2 to formally charge the committee with the search.
