Deputies said Privott, 39, was found stabbed to death on Bracken Fern Drive around 2 a.m. Friday. They said he was found lying in a yard.

In a 911 call, the woman who identifies herself as the victim’s fiance initially thought Privott was hit by a car. She later discovered the stab wound on his chest, according to the emotional call.

Privott, a Wilmington musician, was recording a new song before he was killed. Now his friends hope to finish the song before his celebration of life ceremony scheduled for Sunday.
