Judge calls for recess in day 7 of Vassey trial

BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) — After a 45 minute delay to start day 7 of the Bryon Vassey trial, Judge Richard Brown called for a recess until Thursday morning.

Brown said legal issues had come up in the case and he “wanted to take the day to address those issues.” Attorneys were not able to comment on the type of legal issues the judge was referring to.

Tuesday, Vassey’s defense team asked Judge Brown to dismiss the case, but that request was denied.
