#ThisIsThePlace Roadtrip visits Southport

SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — It was voted the Happiest Seaside Town in America, and it doesn’t take much time in Southport to figure out why.

Whether it’s a walk or ride under the live oaks, a stroll along the waterfront, a meal at any number of great eateries or leisurely cruise on a boat, Southport seems to have it all.

And that’s what we are going to find out when the #ThisIsThePlace Roadtrip presented by Fulford Heating & Cooling comes to town Friday afternoon.

Join Daniel Seamans, Helen Holt and Southport native Randy Aldridge at Waterfront Park at the foot of Howe Street at Bay Street from 5-6:30 p.m. They’ll have stories about the history, charm and great people who call Southport home, as they broadcast Good Evening Wilmington, the region’s only newscast devoted to good news, live at 5:30 p.m.
