Kentucky Derby Party to raise awareness of animal abuse

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) —  Poplar Grove is holding its 3rd Annual Fundraiser in honor of a severely abused horse that lived its final days in the comfort of their sanctuary.

Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. organizers are having a Kentucky Derby Party to help support the Animal Sanctuary to raise awareness for equine abuse and neglect.

It’s in honor of a horse named “Bonnie”.   You can read her story by clicking on the photo.

Gates will open at 3:30 p.m. and close at 8:30 p.m.  This is a +21 event.  Ticket admission includes OPEN BAR, Southern Cuisine, Music from The Phantom Playboys, Hat Contest, Cigar Bar, and more.
