Children at Yahweh Center find inspiration in mural

There is a new source of inspiration at the Yahweh Center in Castle Hayne. A team from BB & T Bank painted a mural at the center’s psychiatric residential treatment facility.

It is a secured facility that provides treatment to abused and at-risk children ages five to twelve; one of only three in the state. The images on the wall inspired the kids to create their own artwork.

“This place was just bare and had cinder block walls, and the children would come out here, no trees, no shrubs, just some grass and bare walls,” described BB & T executive Phil Marion. “We all tend to perform better with happy surroundings, and this brightened up the entire area, and made it a much more pleasant place to play.”
