New details released in crash involving pedestrian

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police are still working to figure out why a man was sitting in a street before he was hit by a car.

A WPD spokeswoman said it happened yesterday afternoon on McRae Street. Police said a 22-year-old woman was turning onto McRae Street when she hit a man sitting in the road.

The man was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Police did not have a condition update as of this morning.

There have been no charges filed in the incident. The identities of the driver and victim have not been released.
