WPD: Man found in ex’s kitchen prior to shooting

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are releasing new details about a domestic shooting that happened last night.

The shooting was reported in the 1000-block of Hanover Street before 7 p.m. Wednesday. Police said a man was found shot in the front yard of a home and a second man went to the hospital with gunshot wounds. Police called the incident domestic.

This morning, police said the incident started when a woman said her ex-boyfriend had been threatening her. They said the woman was in her kitchen yesterday when she found that man hiding in the same room. Police said when the woman ran from the home, she heard the gunshots.

There’s no word on how the other man is related to the woman. There’s also no word on the condition of the men, but police said as of this morning, they were still at the hospital. The identities of those involved have also not been released.
