Wrightsville Beach PD gets new guns
Wrightsville Beach police are looking forward to getting new handguns. The town approved a new weapons upgrade for its police department.
The new pistols won’t cost the town a thing; they will be paid for with drug seizure money.
Their old guns, a Glock model 23, are ten years old. The new ones are smith and Wesson M and P handguns with extra safety features.
Wrightsville Beach police officers haven’t discharged a weapon in the line of duty since 1993.
The transition should be complete by the end of this year.
