Owner trying to pick up pieces after Racine Commons fire

Sharon Tran has owned Double Pearl Nail and Spa for 3 years. Tuesday night a fire burned the business she worked so hard to build. Tran said she just got home from work when she received a 911 call about the fire. She arrived at Racine Commons to find her nail salon on fire but was not allowed near the building.

“I worked so hard for this shop, and then I put all of my heart and my soul in here to work with this shop,” she said. “Every little thing in that shop, I do with my own hands, and now it’s all gone down to the ground.”

Tran said she plans to reopen the shop and will put sprinklers in to protect her hard work.

The Wilmington Fire Department is still investigating the cause of the fire.
