Local real estate developer gives boost to UNCW business school

UNCW’s Cameron School of Business got a big boost from a local real estate developer. Tuesday, H. David Swain and his wife Diane presented $1 million to support economic research and business development at the university.

The Swain’s are long-time UNCW donors. The H. David and Diane Swain Center for Business and Economic Services is named in their honor. Tuesday’s donation will be used to enhance the services the center provides.

“The money that we donated to the university, we felt like it was imperative that it come now. The recession that we are experiencing here across the country, the university is probably in more need and continuing their programs on campus,” said David Swain.

The Swain’s believe education is one industry that will continue to grow despite economic factors.
