NC lawyers prep entrepreneurs facing failure
CHARLOTTE — The North Carolina trade group for the legal profession is holding a series of bankruptcy clinics for struggling entrepreneurs.
The North Carolina Bar Association begins its Lawyers for Entrepreneurs Assistance Program on Wednesday in Charlotte.
Volunteer lawyers will be available to discuss whether bankruptcy is necessary, reorganization, and tax implications for businesses that are considering filing for bankruptcy. Some firms might also be facing foreclosure, so lawyers will help sort through
what to do.
The Bar Association says business owners should register for a spot in advance.
The sessions helping business owners facing financial troubles will be held in two weeks in Fayetteville, in Greensboro next month, and in Wilson and the Asheville area next month.
