Duke’s Coach K offers execs leadership lessons

DURHAM — The Duke University center on leadership and ethics named for the school’s long-time basketball coach is pushing its way onto the business calendar.

Duke’s Fuqua School Of Business on Monday opens the eighth annual Coach K Leadership Conference. Men’s basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski will moderate at least one of the discussion sessions.

Other speakers include executives from Bank of America, Xerox, IBM, Deloitte, Microsoft and Red Hat.

Participants were told they’ll learn about leadership during uncertain times. Lessons include organizing for long-term success through the financial crisis and building a workforce of both
creative and technical employees.

The Fuqua center named for Krzyzewski aims to develop ethical leaders.
