Duke University receives gift for new school
DURHAM — Duke University has received more than $5 million for its new public policy school.
University officials said Tuesday the gift by trustee David Rubenstein will allow the Sanford School of Public Policy to meet a $40 million fundraising target. The money will be divided among an endowment, a speakers series and an internship program.
Duke has offered a public policy program since the 1970s. The Sanford school became Duke’s 10th school in 2009.
