CFCC hosts health fair

Students, faculty and the public were busy getting healthy today at Cape Fear Community College.

More than sixty vendors and student organizations set up on campus to educate folks on how to stay healthy, safe and fit. Information ranged from heart health and blood pressure screenings to self-defense and some pampering.

“A lot of people are afraid to get their blood pressure taken, some people don’t want to know, but we’re trying to convince them otherwise, and we’ve already done 20 or 30 today already,” said CFCC nursing student Jennifer Nau.

The fair was a chance to show different ways of tracking your health, while showing the public that being healthy on the inside is just as important as staying healthy on the outside.
