Titan America accused of charging artificially high prices

The company that wants to build a cement plant in Castle Hayne is being sued in a class action lawsuit. Titan America is among nine companies accused of anti-competitive practices in Florida.

A group of cement and concrete companies, and companies that buy their products filed the suit. They claim Titan and its co-defendants conspired to control competition in Florida in various ways, including charging artificially high prices.

A Titan spokeswoman said this is “disturbing news,” but would not comment further, because she said the company has not been served with the suit.
