Fun and food, it is all at the fair
Crews were busy setting up the Cape Fear Fair and Expo Wednesday. The fair opens Thursday afternoon at Wilmington International Airport.
Fair manager Skip Watkins says there are more food stands this year and a couple new rides including Vertigo, which sends passengers spinning about 85 feet above the Midway.
If rides are not your thing, Watkins says there is something for everyone. “We think people are ready to get out of the house. There’s been a lot of bad news over the last few months, and the economy seems to be stabilizing some. People are seeing there is a light at the end of the tunnel. And so we’re hoping maybe people will take advantage of the safe, family environment and come out and have some fun.”
The fair opens Thursday at 5:00 and runs through November 7th.
It’s more than just fun for the masses. Proceeds also go to help several charities and other causes in the area.
