Newborn found alive in Greenville dumpster

GREENVILLE, NC (WCTI) — Greenville Police are investigating after a newborn was found alive in a dumpster on Sunday.
According to WCTI, police responded just before 10:30 am to an apartment complex on Bridle Circle, after a caller stated that a child was inside a dumpster near the apartment building.
Greenville police went to do a welfare check and found the infant, estimated to be only one or two days old.
Greenville Fire and Rescue took the infant to ECU Health for evaluation.
