Brunswick County showcases Nutcracker – with a twist
‘Tis the season for the Nutcracker; the classical ballet is wowing audiences around the world. The Brunswick Ballet and Brunswick Little Theater is doing the Nutcracker with a twist.
“Nutcracker Under the Sea” pays tribute to our life on the coast. “She’s whisked away by her nutcracker to a land under the sea where all sorts of sea creatures come to visit her such as lobsters, starfish, Arabian angel fish, fluted clams, so it’s all relevant to North Carolina,” described Haley Blasi of the Brunswick Ballet Company.
Part of the proceeds from “Nutcracker Under the Sea” will benefit Brunswick Family Assistance; a non-profit organization that served 6,800 families last year and distributed 315 tons of food.
You can catch the ballet at Odell Williamson Auditorium this Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are six dollars for children and fifteen dollars for adults.
