Body found at Carolina Beach State Park

The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office needs your help identifying a body discovered by Carolina Beach State Park employees Thursday.

Investigators said the body is a 25 to 35-year-old white man, about six feet tall weighing about 180 pounds. He was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, tan cargo pants and black sneakers.

The body was found around 2:30 Thursday afternoon, in a wooded area beyond campsites, while employees were performing maintenance duties.

At this point, detectives are not ruling out foul play. An autopsy will be performed Friday in Chapel Hill.
