Work could slow Oleander traffic

Sewer work will affect traffic on a busy Wilmington road for at least a week.

Cape Fear Public Utility Authority crews will start working on the waste water collection system with some lane changes along Oleander Drive at 5:30 Wednesday morning.

The northern turning lane of Oleander at Hawthorne Road, the adjacent westbound lane of Oleander and all lanes of Hawthorne between Oleander and Hydrangea will be closed.

Work and road closures are anticipated until January 14, but cold temperatures could delay paving.
