Update on human remains

The Wilmington Police Department is making progress in identifying the human remains found off River Road. The medical examiner confirmed the human remains are a 40-year-old, African-American woman.

The remains are still in Chapel Hill where the medical examiner is doing further tests. A man walking in the woods found the bones last week.
